The NUCLEAR REGULATORY AUTHORITY (Autoridad Regulatoria Nuclear, ARN) is the competent Argentine national agency for regulation of radiological and nuclear safety, safeguards and physical security.
The ARN was created in 1997 by the National Law No. 24,804 of Nuclear Activity, as an autonomous entity within the jurisdiction of the National Presidency. It is the successor to the National Board of Nuclear Regulation (ENREN, 1994-1997) and the regulatory branch of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA, 1950-1994 ).
The ARN is in charge of the function of regulation and control of the nuclear activity in Argentina.
